Are Dental Implants Removable?

Well, dental implants are not removable. They are fixed, they are sitting inside the jawbone and provide a fixed foundation. However, what is sitting on the implant could be removable. For example, people who have a denture, sometimes you put two implants or four implants or six implants on top of it a denture sitting. What we call the implant supported denture.

Now that denture can be attached to the implants by means of screws or alternatively inside a denture we use like a clip, like a male and female, so that the denture will sit on the implant without any movement. You may ask, So what is the difference between the implant supported denture and regular denture? It’s a big difference.

The big difference is the sense of security it gives you, because then if they denture is sitting on the implant by means of a screw which is fixed or male and female can shape or clip, there’s no way that the denture can move. So you can bite on the apple and you can smile and laugh because then the implants will feel, look and function like your natural dentition.
