Are the Gums Numbed Before Bleaching?

Watch this video to learn more about the methods we use in preventing any discomfort during a gum bleaching treatment.

Is the gum numb? Usually we use local anesthesia. The first thing we just put a layer of a topical like a Novocaine, which kind of numb the gum tissue. And so in some cases, if they need a Novocaine shot, we’re numb. The area so patient is not going to have any pain and discomfort. I’ve done more than 1000 cases from all over the world, so pain has never been the issue.

Afterwards, you may have a little bit discomfort, which I usually give two extra strength Tylenol in the office before patient leaves, and that should take care of it.
